Thank you to Barb at The Quilted B!!

I recently posted that I had ordered the cutest reindeer wall hanging from The Quilted B and here's a pic:

The fabric is from Scandinavian Christmas by Lynette Anderson and I adore it! I have too many projects started already but this one is moving to the front of the line.

Look how cute everything is packaged!!!

And just for ordering from Barb, she included this adorable pin cushion! This photo doesn't do it justice.......it's just too cute. I love the extra touch of the cut-out tag and button shaped pin!

Thanks Barb! I'll be back again!

A new love

While Halloween is my favorite event of the year, Christmas holds a close second place. That being said, I've found a new fabric to love for the holidays. It's Lynette Anderson's Scandinavian Christmas and I've gone crazy. I ordered the cutest reindeer wall hanging from The Quilted B (their photos are copyrighted so I can't add a picture but it's worth taking a look). Then I found a stitchery pattern and the most adorable buttons.......seriously, is this cute or what?

Look at these adorable buttons!
Now I'm on the hunt for this pattern and the Scandinavian Christmas fabric:

I hope the UPS man, the FedEx man or the mailman bring these goodies soon!

Happy Friday! Make your weekend groovy!

Halloween Treat Bag

I had some leftovers scraps of Sue Zipkin's Clothworks Halloween fabrics from the quilt I made recently and saw the cute post she had for a small bag. I decided I needed a bigger bag and here it is:

I put a lime green flannel inside and used a heavy duty ribbon for the handles. I probably should have put a pocket inside but if the bag's full of candy, what do I need a pocket for?

I used this bag when I went to the Pacific International Quilt Festival in Santa Clara, CA yesterday and I got lots of awesome reviews!

Thanks for the great idea Sue!

I hate it when I run out of fabric before I finish my project

Has this happened to you before? I finally got this project out so I could FINALLY finish and realized that I'm shy the slightest amount of the green dot. DARN! So it's off to the fabric store to see if I can find more.

And as if that's not irritating enough, it happened a second time. I started a scrappy table runner with Halloween fabric and ran out of the green check. So I added the black circle piece and I kind of like it because it looks like an eyeball. Spooooooooky!

I started this super cute heart quilt from the Moda Bake Shop. I'm using Candy Kisses from Sandy Gervais and I have enough jelly rolls strips to make more than one. This quilt goes together super quick so I'm definitely going to make multiples.

This little stitchery is going to become one of many Christmas ornaments for my family. I'm making one for each household and since this my first year as a married gal, I think I'll continue this each year. Next year the ornament will read Wish. The green flannel will be the border. What do you think?

My dad passed away about 20 years ago and his friend found this baby quilt of mine in my dad's stuff. She thought I should have it and I can't thank her enough for giving it to me. My parents has been divorced a long time and apparently my dad kept this quilt on his dresser. I didn't know my dad very well so this made me feel wonderful and sad at the same time. I love the funky fabrics and especially the backing. I wish I knew who made it for me.

Here is my September block for Little Miss Shabby's project. I am loving this BOM and have even kept up with the stitcheries. I can't wait till I get to stitch them all together.

Happy Tuesday!

One of my favorite sayings........

I love this plaque. We have it hanging above our headboard in the bedroom. We also have one in our trailer hanging over the bed in there too.

WIPs

Since it's been so long since I've blogged, you'd think I had tons of stuff to blog about. However, with ongoing house repairs, a wedding, new nieces and nephews, a few vacations and friends and family coming to visit, I really haven't gotten that much done.
However, here are a few WIPs I'm working on.
I love pinwheel blocks and I decided to do a pinwheel/stitchery quilt. It's my own design so we'll see how it turns out.

My quilt room is green and white and so I figured I should make a quilt with those colors to hang on the wall. I love these fabrics!

I finished this table topper but scalloped edges definitely aren't my thing.

I couldn't find a laptop bag that I liked (it's more of a notebook than a laptop) so I made my own.

I love the handles!

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to me! It's been almost a year since my last blog and lots of things have happened in the past year.

In February, I got married and we spent a blissful week in Hawaii on the most fabulous honeymoon. Heavenly!!

In May, my family entered our team in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and our team, with a mere seven members, raised over $10,000.00!! We also received the spirit award (which means we were the silliest and loudest team).
Lots of other things have happened, motorcycle trips, camping trips, spending time with family and friends. We even managed to lay new concrete in our front driveway and are in the process of putting in new carpet and new siding on the house. We're doing most of it ourselves so it's hard work but the reward is worth it.
And last, but not least, I bought a Grace quilting frame a few weeks back and I'm so excited!!! I haven't quilted anything on it yet as I'm still playing with it all but soon I'll be whizzing through my quilt tops!

A couple of months back I was browsing through the Jolly Jabber when I came across some Halloween fabric from Sue Zipkin. I fell madly in love with Sue's line of fabric Gone Haunting and emailed her right away to let her know of my adoration. She kindly invited me to share my project with her and seven weeks later, when I did finish it, she asked if I'd like to be a guest blogger. How wonderful! Who doesn't love to show off their work? So when you get a chance, please check out Sue's blog. Her fabrics are just beautiful!

Here's my finished quilt top using Gone Haunting. Each year my husband and I throw a Halloween Party (Halloween is my most favorite event of the year) and we invite our family and friends from out of town to stay the night with us. Each guest gets to sleep under a different Halloween quilt (I've made quite a few).
This year, this quilt is going on my bed!
Happy Tuesday everyone!
